A Warm Welcome to the School Year!

Dear Marie Curie STEM Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Marie Curie STEM Elementary! We are so excited to open our doors and welcome back our incredible students and families. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are glad you're here. Our school community thrives because of your energy, curiosity, and partnership.

As we begin this new year, our staff is ready to inspire, support, and challenge each student to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We remain deeply committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and joyful learning environment where all students feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Family connections make a difference.
Research shows that when families stay involved in their child’s learning—by asking questions about their day, keeping communication open with teachers, and setting routines for homework and sleep—students do better in school and feel more confident socially and emotionally. Your partnership is powerful.

A few important reminders for a smooth start:

  • Communication from your child’s teacher or the school will be sent through ClassDojo and ParentSquare. Please download the apps to stay informed and connected.
  • We follow The Curie 3 Expectations: Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Students will review these daily as part of our schoolwide culture. Expect communication at home about how we reinforce these values.
  • Student drop-off and pick-up will continue at the front of the school for everyone’s safety.
  • Cell phones and smartwatches must stay in backpacks during the school day. The first time a device is out, a warning will be given. After that, a parent or guardian will need to pick it up from the main office.
  • If your child needs to leave early, please plan to pick them up by 2:45 PM.
  • Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 8:20 AM
  • Supervision and crosswalk monitoring begin at 8:00 AM. For safety, please do not drop off students before this time.
  • At dismissal, please remind your child to head straight home or follow their after-school plan.

We are honored to serve you and your children this year. Let’s continue to Level Up Together with purpose, curiosity, and teamwork.

Here’s to a great school year ahead!

Sincerely,
Armando Castrellón & Kathleen Crowner
